How to improve your self esteem with therapy

Many teenagers and even adults struggle with self-esteem issues. Struggling with self-esteem can be all-consuming and take over your day-to-day life thinking about it. At Fairapy, we aim to give you tangible things you can do to improve your self-esteem with therapy at Fairapy.

  1. Step outside of your comfort zone. When we have self-esteem issues, we tend to avoid doing things that make us nervous or anxious. Try making a list of new things to try this week that you normally wouldn't.

  2. STOP comparing yourself to others. You are fantastic, just like you are, and constantly comparing yourself to others will not help. Fun fact: many people you compare yourself to also struggle with self-esteem issues!

  3. Celebrate your wins! No matter how big or small the win may be, give yourself credit and celebrate them!

By taking these three steps, which seem somewhat small, can become a game-changer in conquering your self-esteem. When you meet with our therapists, we sit down with you and look at how starting with just one of these, and seeing how much of a difference it can make by implementing something as small as stepping outside of your comfort zone once a day. At first some of these tasks may be harder than others, but with our therapists walking you through it, we aim to make each one easier.
