Tips on how to Naturally Reduce Anxiety

Many individuals when they first start therapy talk about how they did not know what else to do to treat their anxiet. It can be a daunting task trying to navigate anxiety and trying to determine the best treatment. What many fail to realize isit's there are many ways you can treat your anxiety naturally, without having to go on any meds. These few lifestyle changes may not apply to everyone, but its a good idea to look into them and see if they may impact you.


Before going too deep, it's important to define what exactly anxiety is. It can be a combination of worry and fear that can start clouding your brain and in many cases can paralyze your thought process.


Avoid Alcohol

Similar to alcohol, caffeine can also cause anxiety. The reason is, like alcohol, caffeine has an ability to alter your brain chemistry, which in turn can create a cloud of anxiety in your head. Granted, this is not to say you cannot drink caffeine, in moderation it is fine, but if you drink a significant amount of caffeine per day and deal with anxiety, it may be worth looking into.


Exercise

If you do not exercise daily, or multiple times a week, this can also lead to some sorts of anxiety. By having a healthy and active routine, it is proven to significantly reduce anxiety in individuals. By exercising, you are constantly increasing your heart rate which sends anti-anxiety brain messengers up like serotonin, GABA, and 00BDNF. It has shown that exercises such as HIIT classes have shown tremendous improvements in fighting anxiety.
