ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Melissa Melis, Counsellor
Melissa believes therapy should be a space where you feel safe, supported, and accepted exactly as you are. She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and that you don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. She believes meaningful change begins when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
Melissa takes a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy, focusing on creating a genuine connection where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. She recognizes that vulnerability takes courage and strives to create a space that feels approachable, down-to-earth, and free from judgment or pressure.
Melissa supports clients navigating anxiety, stress and burnout, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, life transitions, self-worth, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that may no longer be serving them. Her work focuses on helping clients better understand their emotions, experiences, and relationships while developing the insight and tools needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
Drawing from attachment-based, emotion-focused, experiential, and evidence-based approaches, Melissa combines deeper emotional exploration with practical strategies that clients can integrate into their everyday lives. She believes that understanding ourselves is the first step toward change, and that growth happens when we pair self-awareness with intentional action.
Melissa is passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, build confidence in navigating life’s challenges, and feel supported through the experiences they are carrying. She believes you don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone and that therapy can be a place to create more clarity, connection, and self-compassion.
Outside of the therapy room, Melissa enjoys spending time doing the things that bring her joy, connection, and balance. She believes that small moments of joy, meaningful relationships, and taking time to care for yourself are essential parts of overall well-being—and encourages clients to discover what those moments look like in their own lives.
